Cheers everyone. Following Dave’s advice, I checked out the Sufferfest website, to find that they have a ‘resources’ page for indoor training – loads of videos, podcasts etc here:http://www.thesufferfest.com/spinning-indoor-cycling-resources/

Sorry, should have mentioned
Sorry, should have mentioned that I don’t have a turbo at home. I suppose I have space, but the noise would be disruptive and again, time isn’t usually on my side. I was thinking more about what I could do at lunchtimes. For some reason I find it easier to focus when out of the house as well.I do have a mac, but hadn’t realised that Handbrake is a free app, so maybe the Manx torture DVDs would cover that aspect.

Cheers for the tips guys, I
Cheers for the tips guys, I had a great time today. Some of the hills were fairly tough, and I took a picture of a flirting peacock with plumage everywhere in the castle courtyard! Nice cafe in the town square where I had a Bala bree or something like that. Sweet current bread, anyway. Knackered now!notfastenough

Thanks guys – I reckon I’m going to use the B5429 to head down to Ruthin castle. It seems a good combination of rural road, good scenery and fairly straightforward directions. Hopefully find a brew and a flapjack once there, take a couple of pics of the castle and head back. Now just got to hope for good weather…
Cheers, enjoy your rides if you go out!

Fringe: “what did strike me
Fringe: “what did strike me was what is the difference between these frames and other ‘cheapish’ carbon frames (planet x, ribble etc etc) apart from a paint job/stickers and probably a bit more of a mark up for profit margins.. ”+1 I’m riding a carbon fibre frame/forks from Graham Weigh in Deeside, but when I bought it he had a load, some of which were theirs, some were apparently a cancelled order for Terry Dolan, a couple were a similiar thing originally intended for Ribble etc, which I was told were all basically the same thing, churned out of the same far eastern factory to the same template. What’s the difference between these and the scary ones mentioned by velotech?

Oh he’s real alright – he’s
Oh he’s real alright – he’s one of their regular columnists! Not known for satire either.I think with cycling on the rise in the UK, the media feel the need to fall onto ‘one side’ or the other, when what ought to happen is doing away with the ‘them and us’ mentality.

Thanks Seabass. Think I will
Thanks Seabass. Think I will be avoiding polarisation for these then.Various manufacturers do indeed offer prescription lenses, but Bolle are the only ones going higher than -5ish. My choices are Bolle or… Bolle.

Thanks Farky – think ill give
Thanks Farky – think ill give polarisation a swerve, since I don’t like the sound of invisible puddles hiding invisible potholes! The Bolle chap did concede that if it was his cash, he would just take them as they are, as well.Good news that cat1 – although based on the sets I tried, I would recommend asking them to get samples in before ordering. So many of them just didn’t feel quite right for my head. Indeed, I will be buying a pair that are not the best looking of the choices, in my opinion, simply because they were a good fit. Function over form and all that.
Then again, maybe you have one of those heads that just fits specs!

Planet-x? Tend to be very
Planet-x? Tend to be very popular with racers, and relatively affordable.I didn’t think you could ride a bike liveried in team colours/logos when you race unless it’s your team? I’d avoid the Astana.
Think my colleague paid about that for a kuota kharma frameset.
