    Only as contractors which
Only as contractors which would cost you far more and give you uncertainty due to the short term nature of contracts.

And the tech guy has gone as well. Claims the ‘doge’ team will carry on without him.
ie I know fuck all about local government so I’m really glad I can get out under the coat tails of Yusuf.

I saw another piece where Tice claims he will stop new local government employees from joining the pension scheme. It is a statutory scheme and councils have zero powers to decide if someone is in the scheme or not. Everyone who works for a council can join the scheme and it is the default when you start.

Looks to be a bit more
Looks to be a bit more complicated
All Public Bodies will have access to this Framework Agreement with the agreement with the Contracting Authority. Those organisations who wish to access this Framework Agreement are detailed in the Invitation to Tender document.

So a framework would be the potential value of services that any public body could use. This would be fast tracked as the service has already gone through a tender exercise.
I don’t think that Kcc are actually paying £Ms for recruitment.

    How are you getting on

How are you getting on brooksby ?

My knee flaired up again and I have had 4 sessions with a physio. Interestingly most of it was working on areas away from the knee – hip, hamstring and foot arch. They all combined to pull my knee out of alignment leading to the discomfort.

A solar farm is proceeding after the view for car drivers was rejected as a reason to block it.

Planning inspector Cullum Parker said “The site would be visible to occupiers of motor vehicles as they travel up and down this road… Nonetheless, the primary purpose of drivers is to watch the road.”

    It would be a completely

It would be a completely illegal change that would see a team sent in from Whitehall (MHCLG) to run the council.

The Local Government Pension Scheme Regulations 2013 for one

    https://www.legislation.gov.uk/uksi/2013/2356/contents

There can be local policies around small things such as retiring between 55-60 (who picks up the tab for the pension strain) or flexible retirement 60-65, but I’d expect the benefits around those to have been jetisoned a number of years back.

    A personal trainer who caused

A personal trainer who caused a pile-up of police cars after fleeing from them while driving home from a first date has been sentenced to 14 months in a young offender institution. (and banned for just 3 years)

Azarbonyad only had a provisional driving licence, had no car insurance and had paid for three driving lessons.

Alongside the dangerous driving charge, he pleaded guilty to two counts of failing to stop a motor vehicle when required, six counts of no insurance and six further motoring offences.

The court was told he already had eight points on his licence from two previous convictions in September 2023.

Should be a longer ban and only allowed to drive a < 1L engine car

    Given the Kent article says
    Given the Kent article says
scrutinises local government spending using artificial intelligence, data analysis tools and forensic auditing techniques to recommend solutions.
Then the data will sit on servers outside of the council.

I can’t see under gdpr how you’d give access to unknowns who are non statutory. Councils can only do things they have the powers for, not any old thing they fancy. I can see a legal challenge to this from various parties including the public whose data it is in some cases.

There’s already a nation fraud initiative that collects data sets from councils to cross check within a council and across councils. Then they report back on potential fraud.
Just proves reform have no idea of what goes on already in councils.

That’s a big risk to allow
That’s a big risk to allow unknowns to have sensitive data. I wonder if there are any powers that allow such a directive.
There’s also the issue of how this team can be held legally accountable for getting access to sensitive data and what they do with it – gdpr and all.

I find it hard to believe
I find it hard to believe anyone spending less than £2 is also running a car.
Traders overstate by some margin the people who come by car to shop.
