The long term intention is that you have to pay in advance – perhaps the admin is simpler that way?
Expect the usual driver bullshit on this soon. I’ll say it again, you could hand-write “Petrol £1.30 a litre: this way⛽️” on a bit of old cardboard and drivers would know about it.

It bugs me that this has taken so long to get implemented. Bristol’s air pollution has been above legal limits for years now and the CAZ has been kicked down the road until now which is particularly bad timing in terms of the cost-of-living crisis and recession. There’s lots of accusations that the CAZ is just a money generator which to be fair, it is, but in reality motorists have been getting away with dumping polluted air around the city and not paying for the privilege.

How on earth? Surely, driving down steps onto a pavement is below the standard of a competent driver?

I’m starting to think that
I’m starting to think that cars need to come with a self-righting-mechanism (they had them on Robot Wars)

If you have to make a big change in tension, then you know everything else will be affected in the opposite way on a guitar, bit more complicated on a bike. When I tune a guitar, say to an alternate tuning, I know that it is pointless aiming for the exact note first time around, and if I am detuning for example, I might tune the first string a bit flat, knowing that as I detune the other strings, the first string I tuned will start bearing more load.
One tip for easier trueing (once the wheel is nice and round concentrically) that I do is for each spoke that you add tension to, relax a bit of tension in the opposed/adjacent spokes so that hopefully the total tension is largely the same, but pulling the rim over to the desired position. With rear wheels, you have to guess a bit to allow for the different sides being at different tensions.

I’m with Xenophon2 on wheel truing/building. Just take your time and make small changes to each spoke and it’s like you’re politely encouraging the wheel to be round.

Leave the live in place just in case anyone tried to nick the appliance in question. As side benefits, my toast is lovely and soft, my tea is cool enough to drink straightaway, and that annoying advert for snow leopards has stopped coming onto the telly every 12 minutes. Actually the telly isn’t working very well.Another benefit of wiring it that way is that you can get a lovely light and sound show whenever anyone touches the metal casing of appliances.

I did not answer this, as there’s no record of what was said. I then received an email from ‘Resolution Expert’ saying he was sure the problem could be solved and asking me to phone the dreaded Halfords number which is routed via South Africa where they have no idea what you’re talking about. I gave them the simple means to resolve the dispute 2 weeks ago- send two correct-size tyres (I gave them the ERTO specification, along with that of the incorrect tyres they gave me last time) to my address and I will take the incorrect ones to Halfords Lancaster next time I’m passing. I’m not interested in traipsing to Blackpool for a third time! They chose to ignore that request, so it has had to go to the courts- could take a long time, I know!
Are you using the small claims court for this?

This highlights a problem
This highlights a problem with focussing just on an individual’s safety and not considering (or caring) about the net effect on others. It’s basically turning car-buying into an arms race with the only winner being car manufacturers.

As much as I agree with you, it’s easy enough to just not click on DM links if people do post them. Personally, I’m waiting for all the Twitter links to stop being posted as that’s fast becoming a wretched hive of villainy.
