Its a decent bike, but in my opinion there are so many better bikes for that kinda price, i will just list a few for you to look at

    Specialized Allez 24
    Scott Speedster S50
    Felt F95
    Felt Z100
    Claud Butler Echelon

There’s a couple, but go to your local bike shop and get fitted properly for a bike and try a few, at your age, make sure you get a bike that fits properly else you will not enjoy road riding

I don’t think I could make 50mph going downhill with a tail wind although without a speedometer how would I know? I have passed one of those speed measuring devices registering me at 23mph but I think it measured the car behind me as I think it can’t detect bicycles in the same way as most automatically changing traffic lights ignore me. There are plenty of 20mph zones now on my daily route so it is easy to fit a speedometer to a Brompton?

Those speed things do catch bikes, i’ve been past them alot on my own, no other cars around and it picks me up

Always says “slow down” and never “thank you” the speed limit for that one is 30 and i’ve been as fast as 52 past it, thats my current record speed

    Thanks Miffed

So i went for Dr Sludge 700 x 28/35 inner tubes in the end on the advice of a friend.

Got some tyres aswell, after i explained the trip to the g/f she now wants to come along and has broken the “we shouldn’t spend money on our winter bikes outside winter rule”

    So i have got
    Schwalbe Marathon 700x28c
Schwalbe CX Pro Cyclo Cross 700×30

Am i alright fitting the CX Pro’s on my 28mm wheels? I know i have plenty of clearance brakes wise

I had this problem a few years ago, i dont know if there is anything better on the go now, but back then i got a “mac in a sack” thing

So it fits in the back pocket while out cycling incase the weather takes a turn for the worse

To be honest, i used to do
To be honest, i used to do some weight training with specific goals towards my cycling, but i gave that up

I didn’t find any benefit from it, it was taking up time where i could be out on the bike or on a turbo trainer

Thirdly i gave up doing any competitive cycling a few years ago, so if you are just cycling for your own fitness and enjoyment i dont find doing anything else is needed

I cant see to much wrong with the team, ok there is no stand out leader, but thats a decent “weaker” team to be able to field

With Wegmann, he’ll try and get in every break and attack all over the shop

Klemme is the one i would bank on being the best place finisher for L-T decent all rounder and doesn’t seem to have a pain threshold, he just keeps going

Vigano and Weylandt are decent sprinters

When you take that team and compare it to other teams who are fielding their top riders, then you see the strength L-T have in their ranks. BUT i still dont like them as a team 👿

Thanks, but i’m not looking for recommendations on tyres, i already have gatorskins on my normal bike

I’m looking for help on sizing tyres so i’m not stuck with shopping from online stores who’s tyres i can find cheaper from their ebay stores

Its mostly going to be rough gravel and dirt paths, so looking at something with a little more grip

The other thing i forgot to ask, if i use a 28 tube, i guess this means i have to use a 28 or larger tyre? but if i dropped to a 25 tube, could i use a 25 tyre?

    Remembering that the 1st
Remembering that the 1st stage is a time trail and you can make 2 switches after that, i’ve gone for my giro team i think can get me points, but switched in 2 riders well known for their TT’s

True he does sprint, but i wouldn’t call him an out and out sprinter?

Also, i just noticed, Basso aint defending his title.

Just hit pick team and you
Just hit pick team and you can wipe your full team and pick anyone who is riding

The one thing i am going to pick up on is, I know you can only pick one sprinter, which is fine because thats the way its set up

But why is Mark Renshaw under as a sprinter? I wanted him and Cav because he is Cav’s lead out man and works throughout the day to keep Cav safe, i thought he might have been down as a Domestique or All Rounder

I’m happy today, got a one, two, three 🙂

Just waiting to see if it was Vanendert that came home in the top 20, if not i still get the 5 points for him 🙂

Also, LBL runs a climb points, are there any bonus points for that?

Edit : Vanendert 17th 🙂 and a surprise, Pineau made it home in 20th, every point helps 🙂
