Thats me just reading between the lines from what i’ve read over todays threads, so might just have to put up with it for a wee while until things get back to normal, No its not great, but i’m sure it will get fixed soon

Yeah, the only time you need 9 riders in a race is at the very start, like for the Giro, as soon as the sprints left i pulled the sprinter for the cheapest one who wasn’t in the Giro so i could use the credits elsewhere

As long as you have a full 9 at the start of the race, so when it comes unlimited transfers before the TdF, you MUST have 9 riders starting the race who are in the TdF, but after stage one you can change it about

So yeah, just transfer out 4 and have 8 riders in the TdS and all will be fine, you dont need 9 riders in a race to score, but you do need to have 9 riders in your team :B

As much as i’d love that to happen and think it was a valid point, i think its just much easier to neutralize the stage and let people a chance to get transfers

I do think it could have been reset teams and go on with points like a “no transfers” stage, but i do also see that leading to problems with people who had picked some of the guys like Sagan and so on, they would score high and the rest being left with nothing

So to keep it easy, no-one scores, make your transfers and hope for the best tomorrow 😀

Okay. After a fun night of trying to get the server back on its feet and a game glitch that affected everyone’s tactics, we’ve decided to neutralise today’s stage and run the game on from tomorrow. Everyone’s team will be reset to the one they finished the Dauphiné with, and transfers will be limited to four – the two you should have been able to make today, and the two you would have got anyway.

Here are the questions you no doubt have, and the answers:

What happened to the server?

We’re not entirely sure, but we think it was a damaged site module on road.cc coupled with high traffic. We don’t think it was an attack. We’ve removed the module now and we’re investigating the issue.

Why was the game allowing me unlimited transfers when I was only supposed to get two?

The game switches from the transfer page to the unlimited ‘pick team’ page based on a list of unlimited stages that’s separate to the main stage list. Stage 37 was in that list when it wasn’t supposed to be, probably from way back when we hadn’t clocked that the two tours overlapped.

Why have you reset my team back to the end of the Dauphiné?

Because that’s the most sensible line in the sand; there was never meant to be an unlimited stage in this section of the game, and many people set their tactics accordingly. Also, the server issue meant that some people lost credits when the server didn’t log changes properly, so re-establishing everyone’s team at that point solves that problem too.

I’ve only got four transfers now and a whole bunch of Dauphiné riders though!

Well, that’s the situation you would have been in had the game run through this stage as it was scheduled to do.

Transfer page changes

The transfer page has been amended to reduce the load on the server. It’s more or less the same as before, but you can order the rider list by clicking on the headings at the top. So, click on ‘name’ to order them by name and ‘status’ to order them according to who’s in and who’s out. You can select more than one criterion by holding down shift and clicking. So a click on ‘status’ followed by a shift-click on ‘value’ will show order the riders first by status, then by value.

I thought, if i dont start one, there is going to be thread after thread of my team has changed, whats going on, what are you lot playing at kinda style

So hopefully they can be contained in the one thread, makes it easier for everyone

My team would have scored quite highly by the looks for it today, but having 4 changes, it means i can get rid of a couple of TT guys and my 2 DL riders, with it being 2 sprints next, its kinda handy because a couple of my TT picks are sprinters, saves me trying to fiddle about to much with fitting them in and juggling credits

No points for today because of server problems overnight where lots of people could not access the site to make changes, also the unlimited changes was not meant to happen, thats why the teams have been changed back

I think the way there are doing it, going back to yesterdays teams, giving 4 transfers is just about a level playing field again

It gives the players who switched out some DL riders to start making their TdS squad less disadvantage and gives the players who kept most DL riders a chance to switch out 4 riders to get a bit of a better TdS squad, so its fair all round

If they did unlimited transfers again, it would be the same situation as before, with the ones who choose to switch out some riders from the DL to TdS at a disadvantage, so i think the way its being done is more than fair
