Argh, I’m torn, I think this
Argh, I’m torn, I think this would sit well in my fleet and be the perfect bike for my mate that i’ve talked about in another post about a groupset for improving his climbing……BUT if i’m going to buy a groupset for his climbing, I’m going to have a spare one to build this up…..Then again, i may be shoot for taking another bike on.

I’m off to think about it, see if i cant work something out. 😀

Just like to add to what Dave
Just like to add to what Dave said with. A lot of us hinted at and suggested that there be a charge for the game, be it through a premium part or flat out charging everyone to play.

By making certain parts and prizes premium is a better way to do it. Charging everyone, you may end up with only the 230 people who have already chosen to go premium playing.

So by keeping a separation is the fairest way, those who enjoy the game can continue as normal, for free. Those of us who appreciate the time Dave and other put into the game and the costs incurred by them will quite happily stump up a small fee for it.

If you think of it like a raffle, but with a twist, you can pick your riders and if they do well, you could win something. If not, then with only 230 players, it makes the chances still good odds at getting your hands on a bike. 😀

It seems to be the way of “local” police, I know that out my way, the station is very rarely manned and has a buzzer, if you press it, it dials the none emergency number and then they have to try and find a local unit to deal with anything.

Unless the bike has been reported stolen to them, they aren’t in a position to go hunting for the owned.

As Mick said, try round your local schools, good idea about putting it on the local facebook, maybe gumtree aswell?

Gumtree seems to be where stolen bikes end up these days as its alot less traceable than Ebay. So if the owner is looking on there. They might just come upon your ad for its safe return 😉

If you are out front all the time as he “hangs the wheel” and leaves the other guy behind on the hills, should you not back off the pace to make it more comfortable for him to ride? Or even stick to easier more suitable routes until the other persons ability is sufficient. Changing the gears to make it easier but still leaving them on the hills does not improve the ride for GKAM as he will still climb alone.

Or it could be my experience of being the person behind, peeved at always playing catch-up and eventually loosing interest anyway.

I understand what you saying, but i’ve gotten him from a 12-15mph rider on the flat up to my speed.

Its not a training partner i’m after, I just enjoy not riding on my own all the time. I’ve spent quite some time taking him out and getting him up to speed on easier rides.

He has said that he wants to go further a field and do some of the harder routes that i ride. So he’s willing to come do some serious climbing. I just want to sort him out so even in the granny ring he’s at a level where he can keep going. I’m not going to go shooting off up a hill and watch him struggle up. As with on the flat, i’ll work him up gradually.

So i guess your right in saying its a training partner, but i’m the one training him to a level where he’s comfortable riding with me. 😕

I enjoy watching any cycling,
I enjoy watching any cycling, but not this tour, In most other tours, teams work together to close breaks down and help each other if its to their own advantage, not this one, it was a continental team, so no-one was helping, kind of spoiled the race.

My highlight was Keisse i think it was, going on the charge right at the end of stage 7, getting a 40 odd second gap within the last 10 km, final corner he took tight, went down, he got back up, no panic, got back on, his chain was off, still no panic, jumped back off, sorted the chain, gave it beans to get up to speed and just held off the bunch sprint
