This morning I was waiting at the lights st a crossroads. The driver opposite wanted to turn right, so across my path. The lights turned green so I moved off. She drove and made to turn them had to wait for me, and sat there shaking her head at me. Like, what?

Can’t you just ‘share the road’ with her? It’d only hold you up for a few seconds to let her go first.

Are you being serious ?  Dude going straight ahead has right of way. If we start giving way then nobody will know what to do.  You’d not expect a car to let you turn across if the roles were reversed.  And as you said yourself Peter – she’d only be held up for a few seconds.

If you read the comments on

If you read the comments on this proposal on the safe passing law you’ll despair.

Hi vis and lights are just another stick to beat cyclists with.  Personally, at night, I use lights.  However, when driving at night, I see many people on black bikes, dressed head to toe in black, without lights, from quite some distance.  Not wearing hi vis and not using lights doesn’t make you invisible.

You must have exceptional eyesight.  I remember being on holiday and driving down an unlit dual carriageway.  There was a guy all in black on a bike with no lights. Doesn’t matter what the bike colour was – it was really dark.  If it wasn’t for his reflectors on the pedals I’d never have seen him. Seems crazily dangerous to me.

As the studies don’t seem to

As the studies don’t seem to be conclusive – I’m carrying on with wearing bright colours and running lights. It’s no extra hardship or cost to me.

When I’m driving – I’m looking out for cyclists.  I’ll not hit someone I’ve seen.

Out on the bike – brighter colour cyclists are more visible in the distance than someone blending in with a hedge.

I’ve actually missed my cycling pal one dull morning – he was riding towards me and under the tres all in black.  I was riding and looking out for him so we can begin. He didn’t stand out at all and ended up chasing me for about a mile.  He had a bit more colour on him the next time we rode.

Millets have them down to £125 for ladies .

    Mens £154.

    Crazy decision.  You’ll get

Crazy decision.  You’ll get no noticeable benefit for £1100.

For under a grand – you can buy this bike for your 70.3’s.   The position on this will get you a faster time. https://www.planetx.co.uk/c/q/bikes/tt-and-triathlon-bikes/stealth

I’ve got one very similar and it is fast- it certainly has overtaken a few superbikes in races.

Your electronic gears won’t shave any time off your race, and now you’ve connections plus batteries to go wrong.  Cables aren’t as sexy – but they are reliable.

    It’s unlucky that it broke
It’s unlucky that it broke but it was the rider who fell off.

A carbon repair would have been better at this point and cheaper. No need to throw the frame away.

It’s not the perfect bike for triathlon as has been pointed out. A one grand TT bike from planet X would be faster for you.

Lots of new cars have this

Lots of new cars have this technology – so the more the merrier – and the cheaper it will get.

Adverts for cars are getting more and more bizarre  and ;ess to do with motoring and driving as the reality of driving is pretty grim for most people.

So you end up with the VW SUV being advertised as tougher than a rambunctious Ram ?

Skoda seems to be selling Paloma Faith.

What was the car that was selling on the basis of it had a dash cam that you could use to send love letters to your other half ?

Stuff like this AEB seems to go unheralded.
