Aldi do them from time to time. Just microfibre towels.
You can get them from Ebay too but usually overseas and they’ll take a while to arrive.
Not as good as ‘proper towels’ but they do dry themselves much quicker.
Make sure to get a good size one.

Be careful with this. Mount the bike on a seat stay lower down and you could find the tyre, rim, mudguards blocking the view from pavement side. Not ideal.
When you’ve mounted all the lights prop the bike up and check it out from all directions. You don’t want to find you’re invisible from a certain angle.

I have marathon plus on my winter bike. Man they’re heavy BUT I haven’t had a p******** in years with them.If it’s a commuter bike then that’s probably important for you.
If you have just the one bike I’d be getting some weekend wheels and tyres for leisure rides once all the weight is off the bike.

Oof. Glad my guards have the qr mechanism. Locked up my guards at slow speed once on a close clearance frame. Went down like a sack of spuds. There’s a lot to be said for proper winter bikes.

I usually go with winter longs in the proper winter – but we are at that annoying time of year – can be very chilly early on and then nice in the afternoon – so leg warmers do have their uses.
Heck 2 weeks ago I was in shorts for rides – in 2 more weeks it might be full on winter kit. Who knows ?

I’ve always worn socks underneath my longs – but whatever works for you.
Its almost overshoe time anyway so it wont matter !

1000m is no distance unless you’ve neglected the bike. Which you might have.
You need that front derailleur back.

Did a ride that went into Shropshire – some nice bits but some bloody bumpy lanes that clearly nobody uses apart from tractors and bikes.

Just echoing the comments
Just echoing the comments that the carrera isnt worth upgrading.
A new bike will be cheaper and easier. Not everything will fit – theres always something.
THe carrera is a cheap and heavy frame. The story of all sub 1000 bikes having the same quality of frame is way out. THe TdF is not a good frame and thats going to take its toll.
Check out the Btwin reviews.

I’d take my bike.
I’d take my bike.
I’d go to the place to do specific routes/climbs.
All the planning is beforehand and mainly google maps.

Very fair comment. Sadly, we all criticise others for using mobile in the car, but few of us are totally without sin!Jimmy Ray Will wrote:I have to say, as much as the stats look terrible, I don’t think its as bleak a picture as painted.
If I was asked the same questions, I’d have had to answer yes as well. Doesn’t mean I’ve used a mobile in a car for a long period of time… i.e. habits have changed… nor does it take into account that someone might send a rare text when stuck in stationary traffic, or take a call on a deserted motorway… which means they are an offender… but not a regular abuser.
Not saying its right, but just differentiating between caning your phone whilst driving, and being a rare as hen’s teeth, occasional reader of a text.
What scare me a bit, is the definition of using a mobile. I will use my mobile as a GPS system (mounted on the dashboard), just like you’d use a garmin or tom tom. Officially I could be held accountable as a mobile user…
You mean you do use your mobile in the car. If you’re sad about it – just don’t bloody do it !
Put the phone on airplane. Don’t get it out. Simple.
My employer now tells us not to use cars in phones – not even hands free. If we call someone – external or internal and they’re driving – we can’t continue the conversation. I hope more companies will follow.

I use a shared cyclepath on
I use a shared cyclepath on some of my bike rides – as its shared use I don’t mind slowing down a bit and taking it easy – especially where there are walkers or families out on bikes.
We have a duty towards more vulnerable road users – as motorists should have for cyclists.
Is this shared use or a dedicated bike path ?
8-10 mph really sounds uncomfortably low. I’d probably wobble off at 8mph.
Surely some of these people actually ride bikes ?

You’re confused with the bit
You’re confused with the bit about needing clearance over the top tube. That only applies to mountain bikes so you don’t bollox yourself on the top tube.
You don’t need that for a road bike.fenix
Before you splash out…
Before you splash out…What tyres, size and pressures are you running?
25mm and lower pressure would probably sort it for you.
