Irresponsible’ drivers force
Irresponsible’ drivers force another Stoke-on-Trent road to shut
Concerns had been raised over safety
“Whilst we have been carrying out this essential work, there have been several instances of motorists not following the one-way order that is in place, causing risk to other road users, pedestrians and our workforce. So that we can keep everyone safe whilst we complete this section of work, we’ll need to close Birches Head Road between the junction of Harrop Street and the junction of Gleneagles Crescent/Bradford Terrace. We then expect to move the closure between the junctions of Gleneagles/Bradford Terrace to the junction with Fairhaven Grove.”

‘There aren’t any birds left, nothing. It’s almost devoid of the wildlife that you used to see. It’s because the habit is gone. I’ve lost oaks, I’ve lost hawthorns. They took down a lovely 70-year-old oak tree at the bottom of my garden.

even if for no other reason, you should support public transit simply because most people do NOT belong behind the wheel of a motor vehicle

Climb-down’ on hated Cornwall
Climb-down’ on hated Cornwall beach car park camera plan – on one condition
Cornwall Council refused the plan, a Government inspector allowed it, then protesters marched on a Cornish estate’s castle
Drivers really don’t like ANPR cameras, do they? Is that because they are effective at catching the many “cheeky” try-ons? The upshot here is that a ticket machine will be introduced, but no cameras.
Ms Bennett stressed to locals and visitors alike: “If you don’t use it, we will lose it. If there is further vandalism on the site or if the estate don’t make £1,000 by the end of the year then they will go ahead with installing an ANPR car park.”

Segwaying a bit on to Reform
Segwaying a bit on to Reform etc, there’s a case to be made that, in the Reform mind, time stops around the period depicted here.
Common sense hangs in the air, men and women cheerily know their places, you can smoke in the pub, drink and drive home, no 20 mph signs or pot holes, you can buy a bag of 2 7/64″ screws and have change from a 1/-, you’re untroubled by that embarrassing Twitter post from 2022, no Pride or Black History Month flags to worry about, mass immigration hasn’t hit these parts yet, we’re coal-fired and so on.
If true, it is a highly selective memory, as so many memories are, but the good news for cycling is that it has its place in this half-recalled landscape.
I’ve included the whole (unflipped) image. Another example here- https://www.craftyarts.co.uk/time-of-our-lives-4-x-500-piece-puzzle-p7011

Long train journey, so down the rabbit-hole of comments on a police road safety plug I go. These are the same every bloody time. I mention it here as the driver views – pitiful as they are – would become more mainstream if Reform make political progress in this country.
Imagine being in your 1.5 tonne motorised of metal cage and being scared of pedal cyclists. Imagine saying this on a police SM.
