Central Peoria medical building struck by a car; no one injured
PEORIA, Ill. (WMBD) — Peoria police and fire are at the scene of an incident in Central Peoria where a car apparently struck a medical building.
The collision occurred Tuesday afternoon in the 5000 block of Glen Park Place which is a dead-end street with several medical buildings including an OSF PromptCare. The building that was struck housed a rehabilitation practice.
Semone Roth of the Peoria Police Department said an older woman stepped on the gas pedal instead of her car’s brake pedal, sending the vehicle into the building. She was not injured, Roth said.
The building, Roth said, suffered minor damage. No one was injured.

Approximate location. Not sure what business it was, but it’s mostly parking lots in this utterly car-dependent cul-de-sac of mostly medical facilities. I’ve probably been on this road three times in 25 years.
It’s about 1.3 miles from my house, but the shortest possible bike ride, drive, or even walk is 2.7 miles.

Are they here, where the arrow is pointing? If so, I would use any of the mudguard sets that levestane lists, just rotate the P clips to fit under there. Then do some careful bending of the stays to clear the dropout.

Other than in a few places and for a few purposes, EVs are probably the best we can hope for in the foreseeable future.Unfortunately, true. It would take a while to either thicken up or abandon the suburban sprawl, but at the moment the average person travels nearly 40 miles a day, which is more than double what I cycle. I wouldn’t even want to do that much while still working. Transit is a non-starter. Even if the money were there, the development pattern makes it nearly impossible to provide it at a useable frequency.

There are good Chinese brand options out there but it is a minefield if you don’t want to do the market research. The Parcours or even the Scribes in 38mm as mentioned are a good bet. Their logos aren’t in your face either.
I bought the Hunt Adventure Disc wheelset for a build in early 2020. I’m at just shy of 15000 miles, over 24000 km, with lots of chunky gravel rides, and haven’t even had to true them.

I propose that any brand new pickup truck being registered as a work vehicle must not be permitted to leave the dealership without five minutes of scuffing up the bed with 80 grit paper on a random orbit sander.

The Arby’s hit by the school
The Arby’s hit by the school bus has been hit again on the other side.
A vehicle crashed into Arby’s in North Peoria for the second time in just two weeks.
Peoria Police said an elderly woman behind the wheel accidentally hit the gas when she should have hit the brakes. The car backed into the front door of Arby’s on Allen Road on Sunday afternoon, which has now been boarded up. No one was injured.
An Arby’s employee said the fast food restaurant now has just one working door.
This incident comes just 13 days after a Dunlap Middle School bus crashed into the back of the same restaurant by the the drive-thru, which has since been shut down.

I got it back a few days ago. The new and old spokes measure right at 2 mm, so 14 gauge. They’re built three cross, but the third cross is basically behind the flange.I still haven’t had a chance to check the tension.

That’s because there is a 25% tariff on cargo vans, but only 2.5% on passenger vans.

75 kg, maybe 200 W on a good day, and this bike gets used almost entirely on smooth surfaces except for the occasional kerb hop at low speed.

Here’s a recent photo of my actual rear wheel. I haven’t kept track of which spokes broke, but the first time it was definitely one of the two adjacent to the valve.
