    Hi all,

Apologies for the slight disruption as we complete the website migrations of road.cc, off.road.cc and ebiketips. There are still some known issues (and some still unknown no doubt), and we’re working through them as fast as we can.

We’d really appreciate any help from readers or forum users, whether that’s telling us about problems you’re experiencing commenting, or anything you see across any of the sites that’s not as it was before.

You can tell us anything you notice here, in the comments underneath articles, or by emailing us at info@road.cc – thanks for your patience and apologies again, getting there!

    Jack

Huh, just discovered that once a comment thread goes 4 deep, you can’t reply to the comments.

Been meaning to post an update to an issue I previously reported:

On tablet, I’m getting a phone view, so for example in the comment carousel it will only show one comment at a time instead of three, but taking up mahoosive amounts of space so that it shows whole paragraphs of text instead of just a snippet.

Oddly, this is only happening when I am (or rather, when it thinks I am) logged in. If I’m logged out, I get the three comments with just the short snippet, as I did on the old site.

Sort order now working, I would have edited my previous post to reflect this, but that still isn’t an option.

Site is getting there… I see that replies to comments are now indented to make it easier to see what’s a reply. However, when you get to the 4th (or later) level of reply, the reply content is squeezed into a comically small column.

The sort order is not working, this page is an example.

Try refreshing the page. I was having issues with this, but not today – I got the latest page when I visited the site.
It’s possible your device has cached some erroneous javascript that’s since been fixed.

When trying to view the site on my mobile it just takes me to an old content version – with the new Rose as the headline article.

I managed to log in today from the live blog page and it didn’t spit me back out onto the homepage.

Also, pages are loading much faster than the old site. I assume a content delivery network doing its job, but a noticeable improvement.

Still getting stale pages being served, requiring a page refresh (but I know you are working on this).

I just want to say I appreciate your transparency about the process (and your general daily presence in the life of the website). Not only does it make the migration easier to bear, but also actually builds a sense of community.

That definitely is a disappearing trend in online media, and ironically enough, one that is critical to me. I don’t want to talk to a company, I love the human touch in what I read, even if it means an occasional mistake or technical hiccup.

Thanks and good luck with the remainder of the process!

panda: the page failing to refresh automatically and being logged out are both known issues, it’s proving difficult to solve but I’m told the cause has been identified and they’re going to attempt to implement the fix this weekend.

derrickj: indeed that 404 issue we also spotted yesterday, our apologies. A fix was trialled on our staging site and appeared to work, I’m hoping it should be sorted overnight.

My “replies” to this forum post don’t seem to be working. I’ve dutifully reported a couple of other issues, but looking back those replies don’t seem to have been posted. Which begs the question if anyone is going to see this one either…

For me, the site is hard to use. If I try to log in to e.g. comment then after entering my password, I get taken back to the homepage and I’m not logged in.

I also have the problem where a previous version of the homepage comes up when I first visit but the current one comes up if I manually refresh.

Are you guys working late tonight? đŸ™‚

    Jut got a 404 “Whoopsie” for https://road.cc/login on Firefox / Android 16 (2026-02-18 21:34).

Was logged out (common on FF/A16), hamburger, Login -> 404.

I don’t know if you’ve noticed, but on the homepage a no comment count is an o (oh) rather than a 0 (zero)
