    Hi all,

Apologies for the slight disruption as we complete the website migrations of road.cc, off.road.cc and ebiketips. There are still some known issues (and some still unknown no doubt), and we’re working through them as fast as we can.

We’d really appreciate any help from readers or forum users, whether that’s telling us about problems you’re experiencing commenting, or anything you see across any of the sites that’s not as it was before.

You can tell us anything you notice here, in the comments underneath articles, or by emailing us at info@road.cc – thanks for your patience and apologies again, getting there!

    Jack

(For the wishlist – what would be really nice is if replies not only showed who it was replying to, but had a link to jump to the replied to comment.)

Replies in comments are no longer showing which user they were replying to, which can make them hard to parse on busy comment sections.

Getting shown Review links in the sidebar that error when you click on them.
Looks like maybe it’s taking the review ID and trying to treat it as a page number in search results or something?
For example, ‘Fizik Performance cycling socks’ links to https://road.cc/?post_type=review&p=1192081 which gives a 404.

Forum posts have an ‘Edit’ link, but when you click on it you can’t actually edit the post.

(Edit links on article comments are missing altogether.)

    [Mentioned in comments elsewhere]

Comment sorting doesn’t work properly – Newest and Oldest still appear threaded, and seem to be sorting by the newness of the thread (i.e. the date of the original post in the thread) instead of newness of the last comment, so Newest is effectively the same as Threaded, and Oldest is the reverse of that. (Which means a new comment can be buried away on a thread in the middle of the sort.)

On tablet, I’m getting a phone view, so for example in the comment carousel it will only show one comment at a time instead of three, but taking up mahoosive amounts of space so that it shows whole paragraphs of text instead of just a snippet.

On the log out issue, I’m finding that it often looks like I’m being logged out, but if I refresh the page, I’m actually still logged in.

However, if I do try to use the log in links, instead of logging me in and sending back to the page I was on, it logs me in and dumps me on the homepage.

Still getting logged out when moving around the site.
Even when logged in, the hamburger menu pops up with login or register.

I can’t get to the forums on a mobile using the navigation. It stays on this page.

    Can’t you rollback ?

You used to be about to click on the Road.cc logo at the top in order to go back to the front page, but that is no longer a link

The forum itself appears to have lost a few weeks of posts. You only have to look at the most popular threads (Car Crashes into…., Drivers and Their Problems and Flipping Cars), which will get a few posts a day, to see how something is amiss

My first paragraph above had carriage return at the end of each point but on a mobile, these were removed.

On a mobile if I try and move to a news item, it logs me out.
On a mobile the latest comments are now vertical.
Mobile – images show as a broken thumbnail.
Mobile – selecting blue road cc brings up the keyboard instead of going to the home page.

Images added yesterday in a user comment have disappeared.
    Emotions/emojis not showing correctly.
    No edit or quote option.

Very pernickety but “like” remains singular however many likes a comment gets, so it says “4 like” etc. The comments “ticker” at the bottom of the page used to show the last comment on the ten most recently commented-on articles, now it just shows the ten latest comments even if they’re all from the same article. Oh and I know you didn’t ask for suggestions for improvement, but it would be great to have the ticker back on the front page like it was a few years back!
