“Obviously, it’s a notorious spot where there have been lots of accidents over the years, and I think the council has put in a lot of work to try and reduce the number of accidents that have happened there,” said Cllr Wallace.

“I think many residents are aware of that junction, and I think most people take extra precautions there,” he said. “I think the concern is that people who are less familiar with the junction take less care.”

Little bit of a stretch, this

Little bit of a stretch, this one: for Da&TP purposes the point is about businesses relying on car driving patrons.  Cars provide choice, and I’m all for choice, but it doesn’t always work out well if the problem here is the  make several table bookings/ decide on the day thing FB commenter describes.  I guess the people who regularly do this are “spontaneous”, “fun” “always on the go” “outgoing”?

Interesting discussion of the admin involved with taking deposits for bookings (vs the “chaos” of first come, first served).

Get a sense of proportion. So they were in a bit of a hurry and no-one got hurt. I’ve seen far worse from cyclists, and because they don’t wear number plates they get off scot free.
