Alé came calling last week to show us its new spring/summer range. Here are some of the items that caught road.cc’s collective eye.
That’s Alé with an e-acute, by the way, pronounced ‘al-ay’, to rhyme with ballet. Or the Hammersmith Palais.
All of Alé’s clothing is made in Italy from Italian fabrics. Most items are available in men’s and women’s versions.
R-EV1 Master Jersey £110

R-EV1 is Alé’s top lineup, made from high performance materials and coming in a racing fit to minimise creasing when you’re in your riding position. The new ‘bio ceramic RIB 1.30’ fabric on the back is designed to protect you from UVA-UVB rays while the seams are flat throughout.
R-EV1 Master Bib Shorts £130

The matching shorts have a new ‘Double Ergo’ seat pad with high density foam covering the main saddle contact points, reduced elsewhere to minimise bulk.
Classic Verona Jersey £65

The Verona jersey has a vintage look but it’s made from modern synthetic materials. It’s a little looser than a race fit, and stretchy. Why Verona? That’s Alé’s hometown. You can get matching shorts (£70) and cap (£15).
Klimatik K-Atmo Short Sleeve Jersey £120

This jersey is for cold and wet conditions, featuring a breathable ‘no water’ fabric that, as the name suggests, is designed to be resistant to rain and spray. It’s a roubaix material with a DWR (durable water repellent) coating. You get a long tail to keep your bum dry and a high collar.
The Klimatik range also includes gilets, jackets and shoe covers.
PRR Camo Jersey £90

Alé has camo options in its range for both men and women. This women’s jersey features a micro-perforated fabric at the front for breathability and a carbon fabric at the back that’s designed to be fast drying. If you’re brave enough to go for the matching shorts, they’re £95.
Excel Veloce Jersey £65

This new lightweight jersey is intended for hot days, featuring a micro polyester honeycomb fabric that’s designed to be fast drying. The collar is cut low because you don’t need the protection from the weather.

We’ll be reviewing a selection of Alé clothing here on road.cc over the next few weeks.
