Ian Bibby has been reunited with this Genesis Volare bike, stolen outside a café in Lancaster last week while the Madison Genesis rider was inside.
The bike, worth £7,000 and one of only ten in the world, was recovered after a tip-off from an address in Lancashire, apparently as it was about to be sold on for £2,500.
Police believe the prospective purchaser planned to break the bike up and sell the parts on eBay.
Bibby has raised his arms in victory a good few times in his career, but possibly never with as much relief – nor, indeed, as much underwear showing – as in the above picture he tweeted earlier this afternoon.
“My little Genesis bike has had a right adventure this weekend,” he said. “But he's back with his dad! Thanks for all the help!”

If only the police put quite so much effort into tracking down bikes normally.
He didnt pay for it, I would hazard a guess he would have been given another for free and there would likely have been very ’emotional’ attachment to it.
More of an issue for average Joe the commuter who has his bike stolen who then has to save an pay for another one as the police wont be putting any effort into recovery of that.

themartincox – I know where you’re coming from though I suspect he did feel bad about it. My favorite is Stoke on Trent’s favorite billionaire, Mr “mobile phones” Caudwell. He had his Trek Madonne nicked a few years back and Trek gave him a replacement. Bit different than the tug of war I have had with insurers to get my compo for the two bikes I’ve had nicked over the years.
