Spin up in a Brewery comes to West Sussex in May

Roller racing, beer and BBQ - not a bad way to spend a saturday

If you're anywhere near West Sussex on Saturday 26 May, you should get yourself down to the Dark Star Brewery in Partridge Green, where the Kinesis and Morvélo chaps are putting on a day and a night of bike- and beer-themed entertainment. Spin up in a Brewery starts at 3pm and there's lots to keep you occupied until... well, until the pubs close.

In fact even before the 3pm start there's stuff going on. If you're in or near Brighton you can join the ride out to the event, which starts at 1pm. You'll have earned your free pint of Dark Star when you arrive, then, although you'll get that even if you don't ride. There's ample free and secure bike parking for everyone.

The afternoon is taken up with roller racing, with the eight fastest riders qualifying for the finals later on in the evening. There's kids' bikes too, so everyone from the age of 10 up will get a chance to race. There'll be a big leaderboard running throughout the day so you can see where you stand.

As well as that there'll be a barbecue going all day, serving up fresh, local produce, and award-winning ales on tap. Kinesis Bikes, who are based next door to the brewery, will be showing their wares, and there'll be Lezyne, Reynolds, Green Oil and Clif Bar goodies to fondle and blag as well.

After the final 8-man eliminator it's time for the Brewery to call last orders, but then the party just moves round the corner to the local Dark Star pub, where you can celebrate your roller win or, most likely, drown your sorrows...

There's two entry options. £5 gives you access to the event, unlimited roller racing courtesy of South Coast Sprints, a free pint of Dark Star, 20% discount off Morvélo's new range of clothing - available to buy on the day, and an opportunity to win some great prizes.

The £8 Entry & Transport option gives you all of the above - plus a lift back into central Brighton on a coach/minibus, with your bike if you have ridden out. If you want the transport option you must buy the Entry & Transport option in advance.
