Naked cyclist spotted riding through Somerset thunderstorm

It wasn’t just the lightning that was flashing in the southwest last night

If you live in southwest England, you’ll have been treated to a spectacular thunderstorm on Saturday evening.

But for residents of a seaside town near Bristol it wasn’t just the lightning that was flashing, with a naked cyclist spotted defying the weather as he rode through the streets of Clevedon in North Somerset.

Somerset Live reports that the intrepid rider used balloons to try and cover his modesty – but according to one poster on the Everything Else Clevedon Facebook page, they didn’t quite do the job.

Samantha Hibbs wrote: “Yep, my husband saw him. Several cars were beeping him. The balloons weren’t terribly effective.”

The cyclist was first spotted at approximately 8pm and sightings continued throughout the evening, although it was reported that later on, he was on foot, having apparently discarded the bike.
