A cyclist in Mexico City has posted footage to Twitter of a rather different kind of individual pursuit as they chased after a runaway dog on a busy street to rescue it.
Twitter user @calveritabike spent two minutes riding after the dog, which was trailing its leash, on the Mexican capital’s Avenida Revolución.

Early on in the video, the cyclist can be heard shouting as the poor dog was run over by a car – but happily, the pup emerged unscathed and carried on running along the road.
The cyclist gestured to drivers to try and get them to slow down before managing to shepherd it to the roadside where a passer-by managed to grab the leash.
Happily, the dog was returned to its owner, with @calveritabike urging people, “look after your pets!”
