This is the moment when a London driver ‘drifted’ round a corner in the Biggin Hill area of south east London. The video uploader, spincam, believes that the Fast and the Furious style move was intended to scare the nearby cyclists.
The incident happened shortly after 8.30am on Saturday morning with the car turning from Sheepbarn Lane into Layham’s Road.
The uploader, spincam, described the move as “absolutely irresponsible behaviour around a bunch of other road users,” and added: “He gave a thumbs up at the end as he went past.”
Spincam told the London Evening Standard: “I was waiting with my group for others to catch up when the driver of the Mercedes appeared waiting to turn into our road.
“Suddenly mid-conversation we heard a screech and looked to see the Mercedes sliding into the road. I am confident it was an intended manoeuvre to show off or scare the other cyclists. The driver was smiling and had a thumb up as he came past myself at the end.”

Perhaps he was trying to show
Perhaps he was trying to show them that he had eventually removed it from his arse!
A sudden bit of tyre grip,
A sudden bit of tyre grip, half way through, was all it needed…

Now is that careless driving
Now is that careless driving or dangerous driving? If it isn’t either, and he isn’t removed from the road by the laughably named justice system, could someone please find this car and deal with it appropriately? I’m sure the vast majority of road users want people like this removed permanently from our roads, and probably the gene pool too.
In NZ that would be referred
In NZ that would be referred to “sustained loss of traction” and possibly result in car crushing.

Home owners round there will have your guts for garters for that. It’s Kent.
Anyway driver a total dick and it won’t be long until he injures some poor innocent soul with their brainless driving.
I hope it was reported to loacl plod.
What a Hero.

Sorry, I mean Wanker.
I hope this was reported to
I hope this was reported to the Police? Id like to see some tougher penalties for people like this, now that a lot of them are being filmed. Disqualification for 5 years or a lifetime driving ban. These people should not be driving on our roads.
I didn’t think it was all
I didn’t think it was all that bad…
Pointless, unnecessary, risking others for no reason, uncool… all of these things, but on the grand scheme of things, I wouldn’t be losing my shit if someone did that in front of me.

It was pretty bad….He could only hold the drift for a few seconds, their was no smoke and their was certainly no artistic flair, poor effort really.
Edit: Why did the bloke on the bike stop randomly at the roundabout when nothing was approaching from the right?

I ride through there most weeks. Not a roundabout, but a crossroads, can be quite dodgy as there is a bit of a blind turn to the right where cars whizz round!
I’m not sure how “dangerous”
I’m not sure how “dangerous” this was – unnecessary yes, and inconsiderate yes, and most probably intimidating to the cyclist, however a skilled driver wouldn’t have trouble controlling a small acceleration slide like that even he had to stop quickly. The problem is this could be a 17yearold fresh of his L plates or ken block – we don’t know. It’s certainly not the way to behave on a road with vulnerable(or any other) users on it. (I would have no problem if, having seen it’s clear a driver decided to have a tiny bit of fun)
To an ordinary motorist that occasionally rides a bike with his kids and proudly proclaims his 5 mile bike ride, the way most of us can handle our bikes (especially those with knobbly tyres) probably looks akin to someone thrashing a car. provided everyone stays well within their level of competence we tend to be ok. (incidentally I also think this is part of the issue with left hooks – motorist just don’t get that bikes move as fast as cars in traffic if ridden well

So if its a skilled driver it would be ok?
The driver is a nob and I hope this was reported.
