A young spectator caused a rider to crash at the Vuelta yesterday as he stepped out to wave at a TV camera, just as the riders approached.
The fan had his back to the cyclists as he waved at the TV motorbike that was just ahead of them, causing IAM Cycling rider Clement Chevrier to fall of his bike.
Thankfully, other riders behind were able to avoid the fallen rider. Chevrier tweeted earlier today that he will ride the race’s 21st and final stage.

The incident happened during yesterday’s Stage 20 from Benidorm to Alto di Aitana, won by AG2R-La Mondiale’s Pierre Latour.
Race leader Nairo Quintana of Movistar resisted a series of attacks by Chris Froome and leads the Team Sky rider by 1 minute 23 seconds ahead of today’s processional stage into Madrid.

If you watched the race closely you’d see that the cars often couldn’t get past them as they were blocking the whole road….
