Victoria Pendleton falls from horse at Newbury

Former professional cyclist Pendleton walked away unscathed

Victoria Pendleton has fallen off her horse during her third competitive race as an amateur jockey, but has walked away from the tumble unscathed.

The Olympic cycling champion, who won keirin gold at London 2012, was unseated from horse Satanic Beat at Newbury after briefly holding second position in the race.

The fall occurred in the final stages of the Rayner Bosch Car Service Handicap.

"I'm fine," the 35-year-old told the Racing Post.

"I lost my balance and couldn't regain it. It's so annoying but it won't put me off."

Pendleton retired from professional cycling in 2012 after winning gold medals in both the Beijing and London Olympics.

Shouldn't this be in Horse and Hound or Country Life?

I hope she was wearing a hard hat.

Nope, and I am not even sure it is news, more like celebrity tittle tattle.  What next, Chris Hoy stubs toe on pavement, "It's ok he says, I have another 9 and they don't hurt at the moment"...
