A cyclist has died after being involved in a collision with a motorcycle in Nottingham this morning.
Nottinghamshire Police were called just after 7.30am following the collision between a motorbike and a pedal cycle on Crown Island at the junction of Wollaton Road and Middleton Boulevard.
The 52-year old female cyclist and the motorcyclist – a 31-year old man – were taken to Nottingham’s Queens Medical Centre for treatment for their injuries.
The woman was pronounced dead shortly afterwards, while the male motorcyclist remains in a critical condition in hospital.
Anyone who witnessed the collision is asked to contact Nottinghamshire Police on 101, quoting incident number 94 of Tuesday 21 April.
Update: April 23
The cyclist has this evening been identified as Sally Shalloe, 52, of Barton Lane, Attenborough. Ms Shalloe was a research fellow at the University of Nottingham.
The motorcyclist remains in serious condition in Queens Medical Centre.
