This probably isn't the first video shot on the Paris Metro you've seen in the past couple of weeks – but there isn’t a Chelsea fan in sight as a train pulls out of a station to reveal French prankster Florian Dagobert pedalling along the tracks behind it on one of the city’s Vélib’ hire bikes.
The clip was uploaded to YouTube at the start of February, but received wider attention this week when Dagobert confessed his escapade to police following a complaint from the city’s transport authority, the RATP, reports the Huffington Post.
He had two accomplices in the making of the clip, one filming, the other standing close to the emergency cut-off for the Metro power supply at the station at Rue St-Maur, just in case.
Dagobert has received a caution and will have to attend awareness training – awareness of what is unclear, but some might say his own foolhardiness would be a good place to start.

So that’s drafting is it
So that’s drafting is it then? All I see is an idiot riding slowly on train tracks – how is this at all newsworthy?
Also why does prankster seem to be a euphemism for twat in headline writers minds?

‘Third-rail awareness for attention-seeking imbeciles’ would be my guess. 8|

This story about an idiot on a bike is not a bike story it is a story about an idiot. Please let the next comment be from RoadCC retracting this entry.

The Metro uses 750V DC. What exactly would the other idiot next to the cut-off achieve? Crispy Critter is Crispy Critter no matter how long it’s roasted for.
This gormless twat’s selfish and irresponsible actions are completely beyond the pale.

Mmm, the general opinion of this stunt is most unfavourable but I’m not so sure. There comes a point, you see, where stupidity reaches such stupendous heights as to become creditable and this episode must be near that level.
So, on reflection I’ll give him a solid eight and invite him back for the semi-finals, where he must survive a week in a small room with Richard Hammond.
