I was feeling a couple of weeks ago that the winter bike feel really dull and lifeless. Then i had a close moment losing traction on a slimy country lane. So I had a look at the rear tyre – which wasn’t looking bad, really, just a bit worn down – and decided to replace it. I replaced like for like, both old and new were Vittoria Rubino III in 25c (the winter bike has close clearances with guards on).
The result is night and day! The bike feels lively and fast again. And comfy. I’ve clearly been leaving tyres on too long.
Anyone else had this experience?
