Scwalbe Ultremo ZX Vs Michelin Pro

I need new tyres and have narrowed it down to these two though I'm open to any other suggestions.

I'd be grateful for any opinions particularly on how readily they cut up as my Ultremo R1's didn't last long.

Embarassingly I'm interested in these as they both have an orange option that matches my new frame! 9

cheers for the comments. It does seem you can't have fast and light without being susceptible to cuts...

As I have mentioned on the site in past, my father runs the zx tyres. Apologies to those who have read this before.

Anyway, they roll very well and grip is good too but they cut up easily as stated. He wrecked one after one ride. Total slice in sidewall with tube poking out.

I was thinking of some but will likely get Conti gp4000 now

I haven't used the Michelins so can't give an opinion on them I'm afraid. I have had Ultremo ZXs on for about 8 months now and really like them when the weather's good as they're light, fast and reasonably grippy. Being folding they're also easy to put on and take off. From a quick check, you can currently get them for £29 online at Ribble.

I wouldn't recommend the Ultremos in the winter as they do cut up easily, especially on the sidewalls, if the surface is wet and dirty. I've had two p******** in all so not too bad but the rear tyre in particular has signs of wear on it. Duranos are supposed to be better for bad weather but hopefully the weather is turning for the better now....
