Late change Fuglsang is in for Agnoli
Son of a....
Agnoli is in both my teams, drafted him into my Purist team this morning before the news came out he'd been replaced in the Astana team.
Sodding pro-teams, don't they know how many people they affect with last minute changes
It was pretty widely publicised on twitter.....but only in the 2 hours preceding deadline I think.......I actually considered bringing Jakob in but t-o-o-o dear at 24.2 when you can get Sammy,Navarro or Barguil for less than 20.....wouldn't be surprised if he top 10's in GC though without setting the world alight fantasy wise.
Yeah, unfortunately I was working from 9 this morning so wasn't able to keep an eye on the latest developments.
Oh well, I'm sure this won't be the only time it happens this year.
Am I the only person who's backed Froome?
Purist:
Froome
Contador
Lulu
Rebellin
Howard
Dumoulin
Chaves
Arredondo
Alaphillipe
So many little gems I could have picked: Degand, Landa, Koldo Fernandez, Yates, Earle,
I've got Froome in purist...plus Contador,Betancur,Stetina,Gaimon,Kessiakoff,Arredondo,LuLu and Serpa
Standard
Joaquin Rodriguez (KAT)
Samuel Sanchez (BMC)
Rigoberto Uran (OPQ)
Luka Mezgec (GSH)
Julian David Arredondo (TFR)
Luis Leon Sanchez (CJR)
Johan Esteban Chaves (OGE)
Arnold Jeannesson (FDJ)
Jerome Baugnies (WGG)
Played it a bit safe, may loose out to someone who has gambled on Mezgec and Dumoulin, but also may not
Betancur
Moreno
Martin
Ratto
LL Sanchez
Sammy Sanchez
Chaves
Vakoc
Mederel

Had to leave out Degand, Stetina and Rebellin from my purist who all have value.
The biggest problem picking my teams is that I want to pick Adam Yates but don't have a spare spot, far too many options at that kind of price and Orica have a few guys I want in my team.
Same here Dr.
Gonna see how he fairs today and tomorrow. Gone Chaves for purist as hoping he does an Arredondo
gotta stop tinkering with mine
gone all spanish bar 1 for purist
JRod
SS
Beefy
lulu
Navarro
Nieve
Fernandez
M.Garcia
Chaves (columbian)
Only 2 Spaniards for me in standard(same surname)....the rest are a pretty cosmopolitan lot.....first 3 will definitely come out on stage 3
Howard
DuMoulin
Mezgec
Kessiakoff
LuLu
Sammy
Arredondo
DeGendt
Ratto
This is always my favourite race of the year...I suppose its because that I know the area so well and the terrain makes for good racing, with plenty of average Spanish pros digging just that little deeper..
Tough stages to call, and selections will be as varied as can be....
Just hope I get 9 riders to the start....this season already had 3 fall off before race starts...
Let my season nightmare continue....
Picked my teams, I don't know what everyone's complaining about with the budget, I've got credits left over
Also, there are just too many riders under 15 credits that I want to pick, I'd happily pick 12 riders on budget. There is LOADS of great value at the bottom end of the price range
Ive gambled with Ratto for stage 1/2, but just gone all climbing for purist.
Think Moreno will win one of the first two stages
First two stages are tough to call, those damn late climbs. Seems like Mezgec is either gonna be in the top 5 or he's not going to score at all, which makes this a gamble.
Rafal Majka (Tinkoff-Saxo) is out, replaced by Jesper Hansen
Budgets are working well, the only one which was a problem in my mind was Tirreno. Not so much that the 140 budget was unmanageable but there was no-one worth picking in the 5-15 range. This forced me to pick 5 expensive riders and 4 3.0 riders. Then my expensive riders didn't perform, but that's another story.
This doesn't seem to be a problem with Catalunya, I've seen some gems in there.
Too bad Julian Arredondo isn't 3 points anymore That made one decision so easy!
Well here is my Purist. Not decided on the standard team yet.
Riccardo Zoidl (TFR)
Nairo Alexander Quintana (MOV)
Alberto Contador (TSB)
Carlos Alberto Betancur (ALM)
Adam Yates (OGE)
Mikel Landa (AST)
Julian David Arredondo (TFR)
Nathan Earle (SKY)
Jurgen Van Den Broeck (LTB)
I can't have a purist in Catalunya without LuLu or Choo-Choo!!
PCS is good the day before a race when changes happen last minute, but i normally check on the teams twitter/website, or even cyclingnews, news articles, to verify anyway.
I agree with this. No fun at all if everyone has the same riders.
Were they the ones you were referring to when you wrote:
in the Suggestions/Requests for the 2014 season thread?
By the way, how's this coming along?
They are seriously not that good. I won't touch them, they also are just rehashing results from the UCI site, they didn't even have womens startlists.
My point wasn't really about PCS - I was pointing out that contrary to what you said, the official race website had published a startlist. Don't let Enrique rule the airwaves - others of us actually have pertinent points to make and its easy to avoid responding to them by engaging Enrique in some bullshit argument instead.
When PCS had 18 riders different from the official startlist that had been out for over a week last season, I gave up using them.
I only trust official race sites now. All the do is rehash startlists from official sites and get rider lists from teams tweeting them. Its nothing special. Anyone could do it and they value their site quite a bit....HAHA
If you want historical stats, go to Wikipedia or official race sites, that is where they have grabbed their data from.
That was last season. They rolled out their Beta site last season. They are so (!)much better now.
Oh man, I'm going to be so rich. I'm going to email Brailsford, Riis, Unzué and Lavenu, show them the team that I picked, show them my team's history over the last three years, and tell tham that it will cost €20,000 per rider that they want me to drop from my team. I'm shopping at M&S from now on!
