A dedicated website for the new Brooks England Cambium range of saddles has just gone live and an initial limited edition of 1,000 saddles is available for sale. Each saddle has a number etched into its nose rivet.
You might remember that back in April Brooks invited 100 people to try out a Cambium saddle for free ahead of the launch in order to get feedback.

Several thousand people declared their interest, so Brooks decided to raise the number of testers to 200, and began sending out test saddles. Some of the feedback is published on the Cambium website and on the Brooks online shop.
Brooks are, of course, famous for their leather saddles but the Cambium saddles are made using a natural rubber and organic cotton top.

"As a brand famous for its leather saddles, we were conscious of the need to take great time and care before releasing the Cambium C17. We feel sure that we have arrived at a finished article worthy of the Brooks nameplate," said Bregan Koenigseker, Brooks England Marketing Specialist.
The price is €145 (we don't have UK prices yet) for the intital limited edition run. After that, the Cambium saddles will be priced at €125. For more info go to www.brooksengland.com/cambium

The C15 one looks exciting.

No black ones and only 300
No black ones and only 300 gents ones by the end of July, the rest not until September. Oh, and what’s with the euro thing? Ironic from a company that trades on its very Britishness.
I have a Brooks saddle
I have a Brooks saddle myself, but am starting to get very suspicious of their artisanal hipster marketing angle. Once something becomes hip, it stops being timeless. Carradice are starting to head that way too.
I liked it more when they were still aimed squarely at the fig roll brigade!
Don’t get me wrong but… who
Don’t get me wrong but… who cares? My bottom does not care if it the saddle is hip or not as long as it works well on an all-day ride.
I’m one of the test riders,
I’m one of the test riders, and I’m very impressed to date. Perfect for the commuter.
Finally a Brooks impervious
Finally a Brooks impervious to elements. Sounds great!
Will be tempted by the C15
Will be tempted by the C15 model, I have a Ti B15 but the weatherproofing is always an issue…
Some how it does remind me of
Some how it does remind me of my Regal saddle:

Maybe I’m missing the point, as I picked up a (leather) Swift at 85 € from my dealer. (|:

Well it looks nice and as a loyal B17 and Professional owner I know that Brooks know how to make great saddles.
However – 😕 – Brooks have made plasticish rubberry saddles in the past and the results have always been a disappointment with pretty poor life expectancy and nothing that could rival the comfort of their leather saddles….. so I think I will wait this one out, because if its a dud then I loose nothing and if its a overwhelming success they are bound to make more.
Well, the pricing is
Well, the pricing is certainly ambitious
