A YouTube video showing two e-bikes converted into Star Wars Speeders cruising around the streets of New York City has gained more than 3 million views on YouTube.
Uploaded to the video-sharing site ahead of Halloween, the footage shows two riders dressed as members of the Rebel Alliance riding one of the craft, complete with mirrors to hide the wheels and give the impression it is floating, to the delight of onlookers.
They then get pursued by someone on a second Speeder dressed as a Stormtrooper, who himself takes on a passenger (the Star Wars Battlefront character Iden Versio), before all four are pulled over by a New York Police Department officer – although not all is as it seems.
Casey Niestat, whom we have featured several times before on road.cc, was involved in the filming and has uploaded a behind-the-scenes video showing how it was made.
The bike on which the Speeders were built is a Super 73 from Lithium Cycles, with the team working after hours and at weekends to bring the idea to life.
