Having established itself as a proven accessories brand for mountain bikers in the rider-hydration market, the evolution to broader on-bike accessories for gravel and adventure bikes was a logical progression for CamelBak.

For decades, CamelBak has been a popular hydration backpack choice for mountain bikers, especially those riders who ride in warm weather and arid environments. The brand’s product developers have now created a range of new bike-packing gear, targeting drop handlebar riders with a sense of adventure.

CamelBak’s M.U.L.E. range features five packs, catering for any load scenario that a multiday bike packing journey might require. All the M.U.L.E. packs have reflective details for enhanced visibility, water resistance pockets to keep valuables dry if caught in the rain and compression straps for more cargo adaptability.

The M.U.L.E.  on-bike frame pack is available in 3- and 4.5-litre cargo capacity, with a Quick Stow 2-litre bike reservoir, equipped with CamelBak’s Big Bite valve system and compatible with Lifestraw filters.

CamelBak’s 9 saddle pack carries an IPX5 waterproof rating, and true to the naming convention, its cargo capacity is 9-litres. There’s a smaller on-bike 1 saddle pack, and both the 9- and 1-litre options have an anti-sway design, to prevent annoying pack movement during a ride – especially on corrugated gravel routes.

The M.U.L.E. 12 handlebar pack has 12-litre cargo capacity, side pockets for loading convenience, and is IPX5 waterproofed. An aluminium insert supports the handlebar bag’s structural rigidity to prevent unwanted bag sag and movement when rolling along on harsher sections of your gravel bike adventure ride.

For riders familiar with CamelBak’s ergonomics and proven hydration management systems, these new M.U.L.E. on-bike bags could be ideal for multiday adventure rides in warmer conditions. If off-road touring in Southern Spain, the Southwestern United States or Africa is part of your summer gravel bike touring schedule, CamelBak’s integrated M.U.L.E. hydration and cargo solution could be a compelling solution.

CamelBak’s investment in a new on-bike product range proves that demand for accessories and growth expectations remain strong in the gravel and adventure bike categories.
