If PNW’s Loam Grips weren’t quite girthy enough for you, you’re in luck as the brand has now released the Loam Grip XL. The new grip features all of the goodness you’ll find on the slimmer model but in a fatter diameter.

The new Loam Grip XL comes in a very similar package as the original grips, so that includes the water shedding fins that aren’t only designed to wick water away from the grip but also to provide a level of vibration damping.

That’s made of a horizontally running pattern that provides the grip but it appears alongside a burlier pattern on the thicker palm portion of the grip to help support the hand.

Along with those recognisable fins, the grips are made using PNW’s Happy Camper Compound. The brand says that it’s a blend of rubber that’s soft enough to be nice and grippy but firm enough not to deform under pressure, boosting durability.

While designed to fit with a standard 22.2mm handlebar grip end the new Loam Grip XL comes in a fatter 34mm diameter and 133.5mm in length. They’re claimed to weigh in at 120g per pair.

In true PNW fashion, the new grips are available in nine colours.

If PNW’s thicker Loam Grip XL is something you reckon should be on your bike, a pair will set you back ten pence over £18.
