Santa Cruz has just announced they have reworked their carbon cyclocross bike, the Stigmata and created a new revised gravel bike that is more suited to adventure. There’s also a version called the Juliana Quincy, tuned for women riders.

Santa Cruz Stigmata

The Stigmata keeps is carbon frame but the layup has changed, Santa Cruz says they took the knowledge gained in the making of the Highball and also Danny MacAskill’s trials bikes and reckon they have produced a bike with a super complaint ride. Whilst we are talking about the frame, the bikes get three bottle cage mounts and bigger tyre clearance so there’s now room for up to 700 x 45mm or 2.1″ x 650B rather than 700 x 41mm as on the old bike. Elsewhere there is a threaded bottom bracket (the old Stigmata got a PF30), fender mounts front and rear, options to clamp on a front derailleur and 12×100 front thru-axle/142×12 rear thru-axle. There is also stealth dropper post routing for a 27.2mm post.

In the geometry stakes, the Stigmata isn’t a whole lot different to the old bike, the bikes get slightly taller headtubes and shorter seat tube lengths across all sizes. The brand says that the frame has been reworked to better suit smaller riders (5’3″ and up). There are also different fork offsets; 50mm for the 52-54cm sizes, and 45mm for the 56-61cm sizes to help keep steering characteristics the same throughout the range The bike will be available in sizes 52, 54, 56, 58 and 60.
