New stuff in through the door this week is pretty varied, we’ve got more winter boots from Fixik to keep our toes toasty, a very smart looking gravel bike from Vielo, new cheaper Halo wheels, a smart pump fro Silca and a handy way to re-inflate tubless tyres on the go from MilKit. Ok, so the eagle-eyed amongst you might realise this is actually ‘four cool things’ this week but if you count the fact that the MilKit Booster has two used it’s five…… I’m sorry.

Fizik Artica X5 MTB shoes

Rather than intended for more sordid purposes the rubbery looking, Artica X5’s from Fizik are a fully waterproof mountain bike shoe to keep feet warm and dry in cold winter conditions. With seamless bonding ad a breathable membrane, we’ve got high hopes that these will indeed keep all the water out whilst insulating well. Stay tuned for a full review soon…. we hear cold weather is on the way!

Halo Ridge Line Wheelset

We bought you news of this new set of wheels from British brand Halo late last week and some have already arrived in the office for testing! At just £240 for the set they look to be a pretty big bargain, but as always the proof will be in the riding. We’ll be setting them up with new Halo tubeless sealant, tape and valves early next week.

Silca Super Presta Digital Pump

An uber swanky pump from Silca is in the pile for road.cc to video for their “shiny new things’ series! It certainly looks the business; a high-pressure digital pump with a magnetic attachment to store the valve head and a lathe turned Ash handle no less!

MilKit Booster

A water bottle that doubles as a tubeless tyre inflator or a tubeless tyre inflator that doubles as a water bottle – whichever is up to you. What is pretty handy is that this can be stored in a bike water bottle cage for emergency-on-the-trail punctures. The kit comes with an aluminium bottle that can be inflated up to 160psi, a Booster head that is used to both pressurise the container and inflate the tyre and a ‘normal’ cap for those times you fill it with water.
