We’re fairly sure that over the next few months your usual #mycyclingweekend endeavours are going to get a little more difficult. This weekend the potential for rain wasn’t enough to stop you guys getting out on your bikes, and it didn’t stop one lucky winner claiming the Cycle Surgery prize. But that could change in the coming weeks.
Famous outdoorsman Alfred Wainwright once wrote that “there’s no such thing as bad weather, only unsuitable clohing.” Here at road.cc we agree with Alfred, and suppose that his concept can be applied to cyclists and their approach to the winter months.
Our very own Laura Laker took exactly that attitude this weekend as she went out to explore in the rain. The benefits of her successfully suitable clothing choices – i.e. beautiful post-rain scenery – were then posted on Twitter for all of us to see.

Elsewhere though, the potential dangers of a wet #mycyclingweekend were clear:
That didn’t stop this week’s winners though – the Timsbury Cycle Group – who went out in the rain and had a time that they called not “that bad really.”
Congratulations guys, we hope you can find a good home for the CO2 pump that’s coming your way.
Was meant to be soaking wet this morning. Wasn’t that bad really! Good honest bum-slapping fun! #mycyclingweekend #cyclesurgery pic.twitter.com/y62xuS7Owm

There were plenty more of you, like theoldemaroo and zihao_chn, who went out in the rain, but one or two – mikefortgens, Mick Johnson and Jane Rees, we’re looking at you – decided to rub their dry rides in our faces.

There were plenty more of you who sent in different types of #mycyclingweekend photos including these great cruise shots from dtmco as well as grubby pictures of bike kit from peted76 and justin.berman.
