Passers-by in China rushed to help a cyclist who was trapped under a car, with the driver apparently unaware that the rider had been run over.

Dramatic CCTV footage of the incident last Thursday in Liuzhou, around 325 miles northwest of Hong Kong, shows the female cyclist riding out of a parking lot when she was knocked off her bike by a car, which continued to move forward until she was fully beneath the vehicle. People rushed to her aid, lifting the car to free her, and luckily the cyclist was reported to have sustained only minor injuries.

We’ve reported here on road.cc on several similar incidents that have happened in the UK. In May this year, people in Walthamstow, northeast London, teamed up to lift a bus to free a unicyclist who had been injured when it ran him over.

And in August, paramedics in Oxford praised members of the public who lifted a car that a female cyclist had become trapped under.

Similarly, people including drivers from a nearby cab office helped free a woman on Commercial Street in east London from beneath a car after she had been run over.
