We went out to Italy in October to stay at the Hotel Belvedere, and had such a good time that we're doing it all again in April. And we'd love for you to join us.
The hotel is situated in Riccione, on the Adriatic coast, and the riding in the area is superb. There's everything from the beach strip to winding coastal roads to hill towns to proper mountains, all within a day's ride of home. To have a look at what we did in October, take a look at the Italy Week 2014 page on the site. Basically, we had a great time.

April promises to be more of the same. The Hotel Belvedere is a fantastic base for a cycling holiday. There's up to five guided rides per day, catering for all levels of rider. Breakfast, a packed lunch for the bike ride, afternoon buffet and an evening meal are all included; even the house wine is thrown in! You get full use of the hotel's pool and spa facilities, and there's a daily laundry service so you can wear your best kit every day and get those tan lines razor sharp. There's a qualified bike mechanic on site, a secure bike storeroom, and the hotel has a full rental fleet of De Rosa bikes if you don't want to trust your pride and joy to the vagaries of baggage handling. They've thought of everything.

For a proper taste of the euro sportive scene there's also the opportunity to take part in the Gran Fondo Selle Italia that week, which sets out from just up the coast in Cervia on 12 April. The event has routes from 40km up to 150km and thousands of local cyclists will be taking to the roads. Riding an Italian Gran Fondo is definitely something everyone should try, and this is the perfect opportunity.
In May the Giro d'Italia is coming to Riccione on a stage that takes the riders from Civitanova Marche to Forlí and you'll also get the opportunity to ride sections of that stage, as well as a chance to tackle the super-tough Montecopiolo climb that featured as a stage finish in the 2014 race. Assuming the snows have receded from the high ground…

As well as all the riding, there's a full schedule of activities for anyone that wants a day – or a week – off the bike. From cooking courses to wine tasting to village festivals to just lounging in the spa, you won't get bored. Promise.

Its the most fantastic place. Hotels really nice with lovely clean accommodation and the best food. The abiding memory for us was riding past fields of wild garlic and fennel. The fragrance was wonderful. You can do spin classes on the beach as the sun goes down, or comes up if you can get up early enough. I just love the place, Marina and her staff will move heaven and earth to make sure you have a great time. B-)

I’ll be around the south of France in my campervan in early April and am thinking of booking in for the Belvedere week. Is there parking at hotel and is it ok to be sole rider turning up to join with others?
Also do you know of anything similar in the South of France or the Provence area?
Many thanks
Kevin
