Getting enough protein is vital if you want the maximum benefit from your training, and that’s where a concentrated source like this Recovery Bar comes in handy. Each 45g bar contains a useful 14g of protein – mostly milk protein – along with 17.1g of carbs and 5.2g of fat. You also get a decent amount of antioxidants to support the recovery process.
With a dark chocolate outer layer and a smooth and soft chocolaty centre, it goes down an absolute treat – this is a really good bar. You could quite easily munch through one just for the taste. And it staves off hunger well when you get in after a long ride, until you’ve had time to sort yourself out, have a shower and get a meal together.
The usual price is £42 for a pack of 25, which works out at £1.68 per bar. That’s pretty expensive but at the moment you can get a pack for £37.80 – £1.51 per bar.
Verdict
Scrummy bar that packs a protein punch to boost your recovery

I don’t know. How many of us
I don’t know. How many of us truly ride hard enough and for long enough to benefit from this sort of product? We might like to kid ourselves we’ve pushed our body to the limit – but few of us do. Stay hydrated and electrolyted and you’ll be fine. What’s wrong with just having a banana while you sort yourself out with some real food anyway?
I agree. Although I do use
I agree. Although I do use sports drink powder for almost all my rides and energy gels (convenience) for Sportives.
My post ride feeding is some cold Nesquick and a chicken/fish dinner. Never seen the point of ‘recovery’ food unless you’re time poor.

I’d never really considered KFC or fish’n’chips as a sensible post ride meal but…. 😉
