They might not be available in the brand’s iconic celeste-green hue, but Bianchi’s new entrant to the best e-MTB category will appeal to enduro and trail mountain bikers. 
Partnering with German mid-drive motor supplier Bosch, the esteemed Italian cycling brand has launched its e-Vertic range. Bianchi’s new e-bike portfolio features two dual-suspension mountain bike options and an all-terrain hardtail. 

Headlining Bianchi’s e-Vertic range is the FX-Type Pro. It features 160mm of suspension travel at both wheels, which are shod in 29×2.6in Vittoria e-Barzo tyres. Industrial designers at Bianchi have shaped the FX-Type Pro with a full carbon frame and front triangle cross-brace claimed to improve lateral rigidity and deliver more accurate steering when descending technical terrain at speed.

Bosch’s Performance Line CX mid-drive motor provides pedal-assistance peaking at 85Nm, drawing energy from a 750Wh battery pack. How far can the e-Vertic FX-Type Pro amplify your pedal-stroke inputs? Bianchi claims an impressive range of 155km, and a recharge takes only six hours. 

The e-Vertic FX-Type Pro targets aggressive trail or enduro mountain bikers, featuring a progressive 66-degree head angle. Cockpit geometry is configured for maximum steering leverage in technical terrain, clamping a 780mm width handlebar to a compact 50mm stem. 

All e-Vertic FX-Type Pro derivatives have four-piston brakes, with Shimano on the entry-level spec and Magura on mid- and high-spec versions. Although dropper seatposts are standard, they aren’t the longest, with a selection of 125-150mm droppers throughout the frame sizing spectrum. 

If your local trails don’t need 160mm of travel, Bianchi’s FX-Type features a similar frame design in aluminium. Suspension travel is reduced to 140mm and curiously, despite having less travel, the FX-Type aluminium has a slightly slacker head angle of 65-degrees. 

Tyre specification is similar and the aluminium FX-Type 140mm also runs 203mm brake rotors at both ends, actuated by four-piston brakes.

Desire a Bianchi e-Vertic without the hassle of pivot bearing replacements and shock service intervals? The X-Type aluminium hardtail might be more of an all-terrain bike, than a pure descending frame, but it does have impressive endurance. 

Equipped with the same 85Nm Bosch Performance Line CX motor and a 625Wh battery, the X-Type hardtail is good for 142km of pedal assistance. 

Geometry is more cross-country than trail bike, with a 67-degree head angle, 100mm fork and 740mm wide handlebars. Tyres are narrower than the dual-suspension e-Vertics, with the X-Type rolling 29×2.3in rubber and featuring smaller brakes, at 180mm. 

An interesting rear-triangle frame detail of the aluminium e-Vertic X-Type, is its raised chainstay design, which mounts a 135x9mm quick-release rear wheel skewer instead of a thru-axle design. The e-Vertic X-Types aren’t equipped with standard dropper seatposts, due to their all-terrain purposing, instead of being singletrack shredding hardtails.
