Another lack of justice for cyclists

Just not surprised at how the criminal justice system is not fit for purpose any more.

It is pretty much legal to kill or seriously hurt cyclists. I know it is technically still against the law, but its like speeding its seen as just one of those things. Poor driving is seen as ok by the general population, these sentences do not suprise me anymore.
The crazy thing is that leaving someone for dead does not even get punished. Just remember when you get on your bike the only protection you have is your helmet as the law offers us none.

It's never the court's fault.

It's never the police's fault.

Nobody ever want's to admit that it's the motorist at fault either.

Might as well just blame the cyclist.

To a certain extent its not all the courts fault, its the antiquated sentencing powers they have for road traffic offences that need updating and someone with a bit of balls to set a precedant that the rest of the CJ system can follow.

You do get pathetic sentences handed down but it also applies to serious assaults, burglaries and other violent offences.

The whole lot needs dragging into the correct century IMHO.

Not that it will help this chap, lets hope he is ok.
