Looking at getting this for the month as well. However, quick question - the on-demand/catch-up feature mentions the "best" programmes of the week - how likely is the Giro to be on there? The actual broadcast times of the highlights won't be convenient for me.
A 12 month sub for Eurosport Player isn't £2.99, it is £2.99 a month. Slight difference!
A 12 month sub for Eurosport player is £2.99, and there's enough year round cycling to make it worthwhile.
The player and the stream are really crappy though. I can happily stream in HD on iPlayer, Sky Go etc, but Eurosport looks like porn streams from 1998. Er, not saying I watched porn in 1998. Goodness.
The stages normally turn up on youtube a few hours afterwards
Thanks guys Mr. H.P. Laptopington will be pleased, I guess £4.99 is worth it for the event, I will subscribe in a couple of days and cancel after the event. Have book marked Eurosports player.
Sorry about the double post, clicky click and its there, whoops.
+1 for eurosport! Although there are a few youtube people who post the days race put usually not for 5-7 days later at best
As I understand it ITV4 would love to show it but can't afford the huge fees that the organisers demand. (I might be totally wrong)
I'm cheesed off there's no way to see highlights each evening as well, maybe next year.
I'm signing up for Eurosport player - £5 a month, no minimum contract length so I can cancel after a month if I want to, and the icing on the cake is that our TV is one of those fancy internet enabled ones and it's got a Eurosport player app so I can watch it on the normal screen
Twitter feed is a decent service. Refuse to get sky based solely on news international involvement even with thier invaluable contribution to cycling.
http://www.steephill.tv/giro-d-italia/ is a good place to start, i think they will have links to streams during the Giro
For a fiver, you can get legal Eurosport Player for a month- as well as a stream of the race they'll have a highlights programme in the evening and you can timeshift to your heart's content, assuming you've got decent broadband at home.
