Jodrell Bank Classic Cyclosportive
Welcome to this years Jodrell Bank Classic the fourth running which will be held on the Sunday the 10th of March 2013. Once again we will be starting at Poynton Leisure Centre, Yew Tree Lane, Poynton then heading off into the Cheshire Plains.
We have three challenging routes which have been designed by experienced local club cyclists.
We are pleased to announce that High 5 are once again our fuelling partners and Sportive Nation of Hazel Grove will be doing bike service they will be able to remedy any of those last minute technical hiccups, we will also have a professional photographer taking pictures.
The Route
We have tweeked the routes once again keeping the best bits, this time we do not go over the Brick Works climb, we just the climb up to Pott Shrigley then left back down to the HQ which should make it a bit easier than last year.
The first part of the course is fast and flat across the Chesire plains skirting past the famous Jodrell Bank Radio telescope. Towards the end of the ride it gets a little lumpy there are a few small climbs, on the 50 mile route and 80 mile routes riders also have to tackle the Pott Shrigley climb which a steady gradient up past the village and golf course, a little sting in the tail.
The event is an ideal warm up for the Cheshire Cat and the Tour of Flanders Sportives a few weeks later.
We have all the features you would expect in a club sportive
