The Road.cc and the Collarbone Olympics photo challenge - the results

We asked for your Olympics photos - here's The Collarbone's collection of the best

Thirty-six photographers; 140 or more photographs; three races in all - the men's road race and time trial, and the women's road race. Thank you all for your images of the Olympic Games for the Road.cc and The Collarbone crowdsourced collection.

So what did we get? A lot of Bradley and the boys, natch, and some outstanding photos of Lizzie and the women in the rain. A few real clangers, and a surprising number of Philippe Gilbert, who animated the race's middle stages so well. Not that many of Box Hill - and maybe only one or two which truly captured the exuberance and the party atmosphere that had the male riders complaining of ringing ears from all the shouting.

That was perhaps the only disappointment for photo editor Paul Sanders, who also contributed a couple to the collection, because the final photos, all 23 of them, are incredibly strong, and tell a compelling story of the excitement, dismay at the Team GB men's losing battle for Cav, Armitstead's incredible, gutsy silver, and then the delirium as King Brad took to the TT throne. Again, thanks a lot.

What do you think? There's a few photos included here, but you can download the full collection, for free, on the Collarbone iPad app.
