It's not very low-fat but everyone loves a bit of malt loaf as a power snack, especially when it come with hidden extras...

How about some banana flapjacks? Really simple but they can be quite bad for you I suppose...basic flapjack recipe with 2 mushed up bananas for a different flavour and some nutrients.

Yeah I have made various...some work, some not. The ones I like best are as follows (stolen from an american website, hence the descriptions of measurement, but altered a bit to my taste)
They are called 'cinnamon apple oat bars'

3 cups of oats
1/2 cup of wheatgerm
1/2 cup of mixed seed
2 tablespoon of cinnamon
1 teaspoon of mixed spice
1 teaspoon of ginger
1 standard jar of honey
1 cup of oil
2 large cooking apples, boiled down with a little sugar
1/2 cup of heavy brown sugar
1 cup of your choice of berries/dried fruit

> put the dry ingredients in a bowl, mix well.
> add the honey into a 'well' in the dry ingredients as well as the oil, mix well
> finally add in the apple compote and mix again.

Bake for 20-ish minutes or until the top goes golden brown.

Hope that helps and works, they are tasty!

In the goody bag at the bristol 10km this weekend there were two packets of 'fillers'. One was milled flax seed with goji berries and the other just plain milled flax seed. Could try those in a smoothie or just in a meal apparantly.

Wheat germ's good as a smoothie filler too, bit cheaper than almonds though not as tasty. still, there's plenty of tasty stuff in a smoothie!

homemade fruit smoothie..add ground almonds into it for added 'filling power'...(see you through till cake time at least..)

i like finncrisp. they're the best crackers, tasty enough so's you can eat them on their own. better with cheese, but that kind of defeats the object 1

Cake or fruit, tbh I'm all in favour of both

I hope you have the office window open after grazing on onions and gherkins all day. I bet the wife loves it too(not you Dave)!

Pickled onions and gherkins, not much fat or calories in them - and they taste nice.
