The 24mm Halo Twin Rail has been tested before on road.cc with Shaun Audane describing it as "Lively, dependable road rubber for aggressive fixers and mile munching club bikes". The 29mm version gives a bit more of an air cushion between you and the road, and what you lose in extra heft you certainly gain in comfort and, to an extent, puncture resistance.
The 29mm tyre is pretty much identical to the original 24mm, just scaled up a bit. That extra rubber equates to a bit of a weight increase – 379g instead of 325g – but the big air chamber means that they're super comfy over badly surfaced UK roads and plenty capable on unsurfaced paths too.
The tread with its raised centre strip rolls well on tarmac and gives a bit of bite on towpaths and the like too. The puncture protection in the casing did its job for us – no punctures during testing – and the bigger volume means pinch flats are less likely than on the thinner tyre if you enjoy a bit of kerb hopping.
Overall it's a great tyre for general urban duties, and although it's heavier than the 24mm version I prefer the overall package. I've heard complaints that the rubber isn't the hardiest but I'm not a skid-happy rider and I haven't noticed any abnormally quick wear.

How did you find the Planet X Titanium frames? You never see reviews of them anywhere, but they look good value.
