WHEELS IN WHEELS WIW "St Ives, Out and Back" Reliability Trial
Sun 1st March 2020 - 120kms | 80 kms
Start/Finish: St Ives, Cambridgeshire
ON LINE ENTRIES CLOSE AT MIDNIGHT THURSDAY 27th entries accepted on the day £10
Wheels in Wheels Events are pleased to announce the 3nr Reliability trial in 2020 will be on Sunday 1st March, entry fee £10, after ride snack included.
For many years Reliability Trials, the fore runner of sportives filled the early year calendar and in the Cambridgeshire area they have almost disappeared. So, let’s go back in history a little and enjoy an old-fashioned cycle ride.
We have planned 2 routes of 120kms and 80 kms for all ages and abilities without too many hills which we lack in Cambridgeshire, but makes for a great day out.
Start and finish will be from St Ives, with easy access from most parts of the county and surrounding towns. There will be 3 groups on each ride and some of the routes are common. The groups will have an average time set to complete the route. Route maps will be available but with a little modern technology of GPX files also at the click of a button.
There will be listed café s enroute should you want a brief stop and on your return our sponsor the “Local Café” will be supplying beans on toast and a hot drink all included in the entry fee.
You can enter on line using the buttons below and we will accept entries on the day at £10.
There is plenty of local car parking all free on Sundays and you register at the café from 7.30am and the groups will start from 8.30am
Full route details in early January.
We plan to have a broom wagon and mechanical support on day again breaking a little from tradition.
Entries are open, and we look forward to all local clubs and groups to come and join us.
