We'll also be joined by NamedSport providing nutrition, and BOA will be on hand to add a splash of colour to your shoe dials before heading out for a lovely picturesque ride in the Somerset and Wiltshire countryside.....

On the eve of the Tour de France Grand Depart, we'll be celebrating the best way we know how without actually been there... heading out for a ride of course, and you're all invited!

We'll be fully getting into Le Tour spirit on Friday 5th July (albeit from our head office in Bath) meeting at around 11am in Green Park Station and departing at 12 noon for to take in some of the lovely hills and landscapes in our locale... hopefully while the sun is shining! The loop will be 25-30 miles in length, and we'll have plenty of road.cc staffers on hand to make sure no one gets left behind with a minimum of two pace groups.

We'll also have Boa Fit System coming to visit to help you dial in your shoes before you ride. Not only will they be offering advice, but they will also be giving away some cool coloured dials so you can match them up to suit your shoes. 

Nutrition will be provided by NamedSport, who you may have seen fuelling the Giro d'Italia this year (they are also a headline Tour de France sponsor for 2019). We'll leave them to look after you with pre-ride nutrition such as gels, energy bars and drinks, and post-ride we'll take over with plenty of pizza, cake and a cheeky beer or two for your recovery fuel!

Jack has been writing about cycling and multisport for over a decade, arriving at road.cc via 220 Triathlon Magazine in 2017. He worked across all areas of the website including tech, news and video, and also contributed to eBikeTips before being named Editor of road.cc in 2021 (much to his surprise). Jack has been hooked on cycling since his student days, and currently has a Trek 1.2 for winter riding, a beloved Bickerton folding bike for getting around town and an extra beloved custom Ridley Helium SLX for fantasising about going fast in his stable. Jack has never won a bike race, but does have a master's degree in print journalism and two Guinness World Records for pogo sticking (it's a long story).
