As an extention of the Clubs section on Strava, admins can now share a variety of posts with club members including announcements, questions, stories, photos, routes and segments, articles, product reviews, and other content.
Once posted, the content will now appear in club member’s Strava feed as well as in the Posts section of the club, so users don't have to click through in order to see notifications. If you have your own popular Strava Club, they will now even verify your page twitter-style with a tick if it's gained a suitably high profile on the platform.
Cycling app of the week: Strava
Tour de France pros to follow on Strava
Strava actually introduced Club Posts in beta to a limited number of clubs last year, and saw greater engagement from those who saw the posts and more activity in the clubs themselves, therefore the function has been rolled out across Strava in web and app form. Strava recently saw its billionth shared activity and has more than 160,000 active clubs.
Strava say that Club Posts is "the latest addition to Strava’s social platform, and another step toward making Strava the comprehensive home for athletes to share content with each other, get inspired, and discuss relevant topics with other athletes"... i.e, they're continuing to ensure cycling and running enthusiasts use Strava as a one-stop shop for all their sports-related social media, rather than use Facebook!

Being a member of a Strava 'club' isn't obligatory. If you don't like what you start to receive, simply opt out of the 'club'. It's not difficult, is it?
cue web content providers spamming users with adverts and links to their site to generate Ad revenue, its the new facebook.
It really isn't.
If that happens I'll stop linking my rides to it and just use Garmin connect.
