What what?! Almost decent bit of UK cycle infrastructure outside London?!

I noticed on the South Downs National Park website (https://www.southdowns.gov.uk/brighton-cyclists-first-to-benefit-from-so...) that they have completed a number of cycling infrastructure projects over the few years, and spotted that this one linking Ringmer and Lewes almost looks decent on Google Street View! Wider would be nice, but I'm not used to seeing this kind of thing actually linking two towns in the UK.

I'd actually use that in preference to the road, which makes a change over what my local authority is installing at the moment.

If only our local authorities could manage something like this for distances of over 1.2 miles! 7

It looks like an okish path went half way previously (from older street view views) but it has been improved and made to run the full distance rather than dumping back into the road.

It also runs on one side of the road without any silly crossings.

Ok, so it's shared use, but still...

Compare the "before" view:

Perhaps we should tell the SDNP (info [at] southdowns.gov.uk) that it is nice to see things being done half decently, and say what is good about it? Positive reinforcement might encourage future projects in the right direction perhaps?

The route linking Petersfield and the Queen Elizabeth Country Park looks very useful too, though I don't know what the path conditions are like yet.

Anyone else seen some reasonably good bits of instrastructure recently?
