It’s a great day out for everyone (even non-cyclists), so get the date - Thursday 16th – Sunday 19th February - in your diary now.

This year’s Show will again be bringing a vast array of features, special guests and the latest gear from leading cycling brands to appeal to road, mountain bike, urban and family cyclists.

New for 2017 is ‘The Craft’, a special section of the show dedicated to the artisans from the bike world.

This section celebrates hand built frames, customs clothing, hand built wheels, craft beer and beautiful art. Expect to find unique hand braised commuters, gravel bikes, fixies and monster cross bikes. Along with plenty of beards.

The Rider Lounge will once again play host to special guest speakers from across the world of cycling. Previous guests include Great Britain’s most successful Olympian, Sir Chris HOY, 3-time Tour de France winner Greg LeMond, downhill MTB legend Steve Peat and the hugely inspiring Martin Ashton.

Returning in 2017 is the Air to the Throne competition, an international MTB freestyle competition, featuring a selection of the world’s best freestyle mountain bikers.

For cyclists looking to fine tune their performance, the Surrey Human Performance Training Hub returns to the Show offering visitors the chance to book an intensive 1-2-1 session with one of the Institute’s experts. During these exclusive sessions, participants will undergo a full fitness and technique analysis, before receiving a personalised professional training plan.

There will be a wide range of bikes from the world’s leading brands available for visitors to test on the Test Track, with road, commuter and electric models being on hand. Alongside the main test track will be a dedicated kid’s test track, where younger ones can try out the latest bikes on the market.

Also back for 2017 is the Innovation and Technology Hub showcasing the most innovative product from a range of new startup companies. Already confirmed are; Headcase, helmets made from an innovative material that can continue to be used after knocks, Tailfin, a new bike rack made form carbon fibre and Quadribel, the smartbell that means you get seen as well.

A ticket to The London Bike Show will also gain visitors entry into three other events that are running simultaneously; the Triathlon Show: London, The Telegraph Outdoor Adventure & Camping Show and Oceans: Featuring The London International Dive Show (Saturday & Sunday only).

Adult tickets for the Thursday or Friday cost £16 each including booking fee, with concession tickets at £10.00 including booking fee, children 8 and under are free and 9-16 year olds cost £4.00 including booking fee.

If you want to be political, write to Excel and tell them you are not coming until they stop hosting the Arms Fair. I'm not going.

It is going to take a lot to drag me along to the London Cycle Show.

I used to go to the show when it was at Earls Court and found it a great day out. When the London show moved to Excel and got lumped in with other shows. Triathlon? Can't swim and sure as Hell don't run; Outdoor and Adventure? Holiday industry; Dive Show????? My bike will get rusty.

To be honest! On the three visits, Hope over Experience,  that I have gone to the Excel show - Left feeling cheated and disappointed. Now go to the Birmingham NEC Show only.

Trust me, getting to Excel is the easiest thing in the world for me.

But that's just my opinion. You over 21 and ugly enough to make your own mind up.

yes

Out of interest then, how does the Brum show compare, other than simply better? Is it more focused (on purely cycling) and better/more exhibitors plus shows/food etc.?
