With glimpses of Spring on the horizon our calendar of team road.cc rideouts is filling up nicely with the next two ready to be announced. The first is Tunbridge Wells, Kent in a couple of weeks with Oxford to follow.
Royal Tunbridge Wells, 20th March
Cycle Surgery open their brand new store in Tunbridge Wells this coming Friday (4th) and it's from here they'll be hosting our March rideout.
This is the first time we've worked together with Cycle Surgery and we're certainly looking forward to a great event.
Register here.
Oxford, 17th April
It isn't the first time we've worked with Decathlon though with them once again hosting from their Oxford store. The previous rideouts with Decathlon have always been smoothly run with technical help, refreshments and plenty of friendly staff to chat with on the rides.
This one is on Sunday 17th April and you can register here.
What to expect.......
At it's heart our road.cc rideouts are club runs, just one where nobody really knows each other right from the start. They always end up pretty sociable though once out in the lanes.
First thing you need to do is register,(links are above) we do have a limit on places so it's best to get your name down as soon as possible - oh yeah, it's FREE!!!
On arrival you need to fill out a quick form, emergency contact details, that kind of thing before delving into the refreshments. It changes between rideouts but there is usually plenty of coffee on offer and often some pre-ride nibbles.
We kick things off at 9am with a rider briefing, nothing heavy, just a recap of the route with any sections that might need explaining and introduce to your ride captains which is usually a mixture of road.cc and store staff. You'll receive full route details and gpx files in an email the week before.
As far as the routes go, we offer two. The first being around 25-30 miles with a second being around 10 miles longer, the latter being run at a slightly quicker pace. At around the midway point we'll meet up at a cafe stop so you can always switch groups if you wish.
Once arriving back at the store it's time for some more nibbles, plenty of banter and more importantly the road.cc Schwagaway!! A lucky dip of free cycling kit for those who've ridden.
That's that then. All you've got to do then is keep an eye on the road.cc site for the report to see if you're in any of the photos.
We look forward to meeting you.

There's not just Wildside, but also Velocopede and The Velo House, but then again I guess it comes down to corporate budgets...
There's been a fantastic independant shop in Tunbridge Wells, Wildside Cycles, for years. It's outlived many other shops in it's vicinity. I wonder if you asked if you could use their shop as a meeting point etc as aopposed to some chain store?
