Cancer Research UK has unveiled details of the Artemis Highland 100, a mass participation ride that promises to take you through some of the UK’s most stunning scenery while also providing a competitive challenge for teams and individuals alike.
Taking place on Saturday September 11 around the beautiful Glen Lyon, three routes are on offer – Bronze (64km), Silver (83km) and Gold (132.5km) – with individuals, teams and even families encouraged to enter. Most of the cycling will be on the road, although there are two off-road sections of 12km and 21km.
In the evening, organisers promise “a sumptuous feast, special event massages and ceilidh dancing and entertainment culminating in a fantastic fireworks display" to finish off the event in style.
The minimum age for entrants is 16, although youngsters aged between 12 and 16 can ride the last 10 kilometres, and those who are aged between 8 and 12 are allowed to pedal the final kilometre as long as they are accompanied by an adult.
Last year’s event raised £98,000 for the charity, and it is hoped that this year’s edition will attract some 500 cyclists to the Scottish Highlands. To find out more about the event check out www.artemishighland100.com.
Entries from teams representing companies or other organisations and further information, including a DVD of the route or a presentation in person by the organisers, is available by contacting them on 015678 820409 or email info [at] wildfoxevents.com.

Very tempted to sign up for this, although I might get Mountain Mayhem out of the way first!
